At 7:32 p.m., on Jan. 3, 2017, Addison Kathryn Miller made her debut as Our Lady of the Angels Hospital’s first baby of the New Year — weighing 8 pounds and 6 ounces.

New parents Sarah and Joseph Miller chose Our Lady of the Angels Hospital for their birthing experience based on community recommendations. Dr. Maria Buenaflor, “Dr. B.,” Our Lady of the Angels Obstetrics and Gynecology, provided comprehensive prenatal care for the family and delivered Addison.

“Everybody told us to go to Dr. B., and we loved her. We trusted her, and built a relationship with her,” Sarah Miller said.

Labor and Delivery Nurse Amarylis Caves was there throughout Miller’s labor. “Every time we pressed the call light button, Amarylis was right there by my side,” Miller said. “She answered every question we had. When they told us we were the first baby, we couldn’t believe it. We’re very pleased we chose to have our baby at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital. Every nurse we had was great.”

Addison is the first baby, first grand-baby and the first great-grand baby on both sides.

“She will definitely be spoiled,” said her father, Joseph Miller.

Patsy Welch, Our Lady of the Angels Labor and Delivery nurse manager, presented the Miller family with a New Year’s Baby gift basket full of newborn necessities.

The Our Lady of the Angels Obstetrics and Labor and Delivery team was honored to serve the Miller family throughout this amazing life event.
