Melissa Williams

On Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, Melissa Nicole Davis Williams went home to be with the Lord peacefully at her home.

Melissa was born Nov. 11, 1975, in Bogalusa, to the late Gregory Davis and Ester (Bobby) Matthews. At an early age, she united with Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, in Angie, under the leadership of Supt. Leslie Fields Jr., where she later became baptized. She graduated from Varnado High School in 1993. She worked at Home Help, Bogalusa Charity Hospital, Southeast State Hospital, and Pride and Hope for 10-plus years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gregory Davis; her grandparents, Leslie (Gladys) Myres and Ford (Dorthy) Davis; her uncles, James “Mickey” Myres and Michael Myres; one aunt, Lucinda Myres; and her mother-in-law, Sarah Carter.

She leaves her precious memories to be cherished by her husband, Robert Williams of Angie; one daughter, Charmarlia Davis of Angie; three stepdaughters who were more like her own, Robyn Ratliff, Tenethia Ratliff and Teamber Beck, all of Bogalusa; one grandson, Jayceon Davis of Angie; her mother, Ester (Bobby) Matthews of Angie; one sister, Brittany Mathews; one brother, Gregory (Tasha) Davis of Angie; a host of step sisters, and brothers; and also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 14, at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ with Supt. Leslie Fields Jr. officiating. The interment will be held in Robinson Cemetery.
