Jo Ann Jenkins Williams, 69, a former resident of the Hilltop community, died Sunday night, Jan. 8, 2017, at the Carrington Place in Baton Rouge. She enjoyed reading novels and working word search puzzles. Jo Ann also enjoyed watching her favorite old television programs.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda Joyce and Ray Alsobrooks of Bogalusa, and Sandra Guillot of Gonzales; a son and a daughter-in-law, Nelson Wayne and Charlotte Wiggins of Pine; eight grandchildren, Kaitlyn Guillot, Brandon Kinnamon, Jr., Derrick Kinnamon, Kirk Wiggins, Madeline Blanchard, Jolena Foster, Joyceline Alsobrooks and Robert Alsobrooks; 15 great-grandchildren and an expected great-grandchild; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenys Williams; her parents, Leroy Jenkins Jr. and Nina Lambert Jenkins; a sister, Margie Jenkins Lea; and a brother, Nathan Jenkins.
Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Willard Carney officiating. Burial followed in the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church cemetery.
