Eloise Wilson

Eloise Blackburn Wilson departed this earthly kingdom on Jan. 1, 2017. Her sweet spirit touched everyone’s heart.

Eloise was born to the late Norse Blackburn Sr. and the late Harriet James Blackburn. She graduated from Westside High School in Amite. She married Roland M. Wilson Sr., who preceded her in death. They were married for 41 years before his death.

She leaves the devoted lover of her daughter, Sherry Wilson Evans; a son-in-law, retired Lt. Cmdr. Spencer L. Evans; granddaughters, Jasmaine D’ne Evans, and Sabrina LaPearl Evans of San Diego, Calif.; son, Roland M. Wilson Jr. of Jonesboro; son, Roshell O. Wilson and daughter-in-law, Kimberly; granddaughters, Tanaya Jackson, Precious Jackson and grandson, Daryl Jackson of Ruston; granddaughter, Asia Simmons of Dallas, Texas; she leaves a dedicated mother-in-law, Henrie Pearl Wilson of Franklinton; loving sisters, Mary Blackburn of Fort Worth, Texas, and Gloria Patterson, Linda Jones and Fannie Smith of Baton Rouge; brothers, Norse Jr. and Charles James of Mt. Hermon; loving sisters-in-law, Rose Mary Wilson of Lafayette, and Dorothy Wilson of Franklinton; devoted brother-in-law, Dr. Rodgers M. Wilson of Mesa, Ariz.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland McCoy Wilson Sr.; one brother, Terry Blackburn; and one sister, Ora Lee Ruth.

The visitation will be Friday, Jan. 13, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness U.S.A., located at 2200 Greenlaw Ave. in Franklinton, with Eld. Washington Drake, host pastor, and the Rev. Eddie Douzart, officiating.
