Phillis Morris

Phillis Lenora Morris was one of nine children, the eldest daughter born to Lonnie and Juanita Morris on Nov. 14, 1950, in Independence. She sunset on Dec. 30, 2016.

Phillis was survived by her mother, nine siblings, three children, six grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces.

Information is as follows for the homegoing celebration of Phillis L. Morris:

Funeral services will be provided by Cook-Richmond Funeral Home, located at 638 N. Columbia St. in Bogalusa. Public visitation will be Friday, Jan. 6, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Family visitation hours will be held Friday, Jan. 6, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, located at 193 Dexter Road in Tylertown, Miss., and under the direction of host pastor Reginald Russell.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at the church. The repast will be held later Saturday, across from Dillon Cemetery at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, located at 62007 Highway 438 in Angie. Pastor is Sidney Burns Jr.

This service will take place after the burial services at Dillon Cemetery.
