Calvin Garrett

Calvin Undre Garrett was born on May 5, 1965, to the late David H. Garrett and Sarah Lee Garrett of Franklinton.

Calvin attended and graduated from Franklinton High School, and thereafter he attended Grambling State University for one year and decided to serve his country. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served three years. He lived and worked in Houston, Texas.

He leaves to mourn his passing: one daughter, Amanda Garrett of Alvin, Texas; four sisters, Brenda J. Garrett and Olga (Tina) Hall of Houston, Linda J. McAllister of New Iberia, and Angela Garrett of Franklinton; nine brothers, Charles Coleman of Hammond, Bobby Coleman of New Orleans, Ronald Garrett of Angie, Glenn Garrett,   David Garrett Jr., Willup Garrett and Stephan Garrett of Houston, Ricky Garrett of Franklinton, and Torra Garrett of McComb, Miss. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 7, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., at Winan United Methodist Church, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Minister Darlean Moore, pastor, will be officiant, with Rev. Terrence August, eulogist. The internment will be held at Winan Cemetery in Franklinton.
