Travis Jewell Mulina, age 82, and a resident of Franklinton, went to be with the Lord, at 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016 in the comfort of his home and family, which he loved dearly. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton. Travis retired from Dairy Farmers of America with 45 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the 15^th Infantry in Germany. He was also a member of the Franklinton Masonic Lodge No. 101 for 50 years.

Travis was wed and devoted to Jessie Haley Mulina, for 60 wonderful years. He was a loving father to their only child, Debra Ann Gibson and her husband, Howard Lee Gibson. He was a positive role model and encourager to his grandchildren, Amanda Gibson Lang and James Travis Gibson, as well as his great grandchildren. He loved watching the children play outside while visiting with his children and friends on his back porch. He was an avid wood worker, making furniture, cabinets and keepsakes for family and friends. As a child, Travis loved tinkering with mechanics, adding a motor to his bicycle and, later, rebuilding old model cars and tractors.

Survived by: Wife of 60 years: Jessie Lee Haley Mulina of Franklinton, La.

One child and her spouse: Debra Ann Gibson and Howard Gibson of Franklinton, La.

Two grandchildren and their spouses: James and Krista Gibson of Isabel, La. and Amanda and Jeremy Lang of Franklinton, La.

Six great-grandchildren: Karys, McKinley, Reilly, Elena, Kayla and Matthew.

Sisters and brothers in law: Edith and Pete Busby of Franklinton, Maida and Mac Thomas of Pine, sisters in law: Lynn Mulina of Franklinton and Judy Mulina of Franklinton.

He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jewel James Mulina and Athalee Seal Mulina, his brothers and a sister-in-law: J.W. Mulina, Kendall Mulina, Billie and Connie Sue Mulina.

Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home, Tuesday, Dec. 27 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with the funeral to follow in the chapel with Reverend Cody Thomas and Reverend Ralph Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.
