Jack H. Lee, beloved husband and father, went home with his Lord Savior on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bertie Burns Lee; one son, Daryl P. (Cindy) Lee; two grandchildren, Braxton B. Lee and Sergeant First Class Brandon K. Green; and one sister, Patsy Milton.

He is preceded in death by daughter, Jackie L. Lee; and parents, Charles Mixon and Mercedes Lee.

He retired as a manager of the Bogalusa Area Office of Employment Security after 41 years of service, where he received the Charles E. Dunbar Jr. Career Service Award in 1996. He was an active member where he served as deacon of First Baptist Church, Center Lodge 244 Free and Accepted Masons and the Jerusalem Shrine Temple in New Orleans. He had also served as president of the Bogalusa Chamber of Commerce, Washington Shrine Club and Bogalusa Rotary Club, and served on numerous boards of directors.

He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1955 with a bachelor of science degree in industrial arts education.

As a local pilot, he was on the Bogalusa Airport Commission and was instrumental in helping the city of Bogalusa receive federal grants for airport improvements and expansions through the years.

Visitation was held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 20, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at First Baptist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., with the Rev. Greg Whaley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
