Kids ‘check out’ Santa at library

You can find more than just books at the Washington Parish Library. On Wednesday, Santa Claus came all the way from the North Pole to visit about 50 young children who had gathered at the Bogalusa Branch.
The kids all got to sit on Santa’s lap and to tell him what they’d most like to find under their trees on Christmas morning. Their lists included a wide range of things from books and bikes to dolls and a drone.
While most of the children were delighted with the close personal encounter, two or three of the youngest were apparently terrified by the strange man with the long white whiskers and wanted only to get off of his lap. Their parents kindly and quickly came to their rescue.
But the visit, which included refreshments, candy canes and drawings for door prizes, was generally fun-filled. And all of the children and parents were smiling when they left the magical special event.
Besides books, the Washington Parish Library offers movie DVDs, video games, new Launchpads, children’s computers, adult computer access and more. Check it out!
