On Saturday, Louisiana voters will once more head to the polls. Statewide, voters will pick the state’s next senator.

Democrat Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell will face off against his Republican challenger, State Treasurer John Kennedy.

Closer to home, Franklinton voters will have to pick Douglas Brown or Darwin Sharp as alderman. Those are the only candidates on the ballot.

Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. The polling locations will be the same as those for the presidential election, Nov. 8.

Denise Robinson, the election department supervisor, said if voters have any questions, they can call the parish registrar’s office at 985-839-7850. In addition, Robinson said anyone with a smartphone can make use of an app from the Secretary of State’s office.

“The secretary of state has this app that is great and wonderful and we use it all the time,” she said. “It’s the Geaux Vote app. … It will tell them where they’re registered to vote at and it will even given them their ballot.”
