Terry Lawrence Sr.

Terry K. Lawrence Sr. passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016. He was retired from the Department of Corrections, where he worked for 23 years.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1939, in McComb, Miss., where he grew up before moving to Bogalusa, where he remained for 20 years. He moved to Picayune, Miss., after retiring where he continued to work and enjoy his hobbies such as fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Nicholson where he was a very active member in the church and the men’s ministry.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Schranga Holloway Lawrence; one son, Terry Keith Lawrence Jr. and his wife Donna of Bogalusa; one daughter, Krystal Marie Lawrence of Picayune; six granchildren, Joshua, Brittany, T.K., Lacie, Jennifer and Scott; and eight great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Corbett and O’Deara Lawrence.
The wake will be at Picayune Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 5, at 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m., and he will be at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Bogalusa on Tuesday, Dec. 6, from noon to 1 p.m., when the services will begin.
He will be buried at Wallace Cemetery in Bogalusa. The Rev. Rusty Kuhn will be presiding over the ceremony. All family and friends are invited to attend.
