E.L. Aultman

Bro. E. L. “Happy” Aultman was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Tylertown, Miss., to the Rev. Charlie and Betsy Aultman. He departed this life Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, surrounded by his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Charlie Aultman; along with other siblings; and his guardians, James and Ada Clayborne.

He was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the direction of Dr. A. S. Helsen for many years. He loved to sing. He could also be heard with the congregation.

He was a quiet man that loved the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Barbara Ann Adams (the late Booker T. Adams); his loving and faithful guardians and caregivers, Jesse Ray (Dedra) Peters; his DSW worker, Delester Richards; a very dear and loving and devoted family member and friend, Lila “Nita” Williams; and extended family members, the Hardiman family and Rochelle Pigott, Paul Tillman, Thelma T. Brown, that loved him dearly.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Booker Adams Jr., Stella Adams, Alex Butler, Ernest Butler and Joshua Lott; two great-grandchildren; and the Mt. Zion Baptist Church family and a host of other friends.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at Mt. Zion M.B.C. in Varnado at noon, with pastor Byron Muse.
