Ard sworn in as councilman

Local businessman Scott Ard was sworn in as the newest member of the Bogalusa City Council on Monday.
Ard won the race for councilman for District D against Warren Bolds, Brian Mizell and Stacey Tallitsch.
Ard will replace council member Andy Deleon, who replaced Malinda White when she was elected state representative in 2015. Ard’s first meeting will be the next council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
Judge Robert Black handled the swearing-in ceremony. Ard’s wife, Melynda, stood at his side holding a Bible.
After he was sworn in, Ard said, “It’s been since the 1950s that anyone in my family has been in government. I am honored to carry on that lineage.”
