Fred L. Stevens, 91, of Poplarville, Miss., passed away on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016.

Funeral services were held at White Funeral Home, 315 Highway 11 S., in Poplarville, on Monday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m.

Dr. Eric Pridmore officiated the service. Burial followed in Ponemah Cemetery, in Bogalusa. The family had visitation from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Stevens was born March 7, 1925, in Poplarville, to Sidney Stevens and Birdie Newman Stevens. He was a retired turbine operator for Crown Zellerbach in Bogalusa, and a devoted member to Poplarville United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Esther Temples Stevens; two brothers, Daniel Stevens and Larry Stevens; three sisters, Marie Whitfield, Dot Dedeaux and Betty Zilgitt; and one grandchild, Mark Jackson.

Family members include his son, Fred Douglas Stevens (Alisa); two daughters, Charlotte Oramous (Glen) and Linda Sue Stevens; one sister, Helen Breland; six grandchildren, Sean Oramous (Jennifer), Ryan Oramous (Tina), Steven Jackson, Melissa Edwards (Korey), Brianna Matthews and Brock Matthews; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Jackson, Luke Jackson, Hayden Jackson and Mack Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
