Larry Ray Holmes Sr. passed away Oct. 18, 2016, in Kankakee, Ill.

He was born Jan. 9, 1958, to Ora Lee Causey Holmes and the late J.D Holmes, in Walthall County General Hospital in Tylertown, Miss. He married Patricia Dyson and to this union two children were born; Natalie Patrice Holmes and Larry Ray Holmes Jr.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. D. Holmes; one sister, Cathy Marie Holmes, seven uncles and four aunts.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving mother, Ora Lee Holmes of Tylertown; a loving and devoted wife, Patricia Ann Holmes; a loving daughter, Natalia Patrice Holmes; a loving son, Larry Ray Holmes Jr.; a granddaughter (the joy of his life) Ty’Leah Ra’Ann Holmes, all of Franklinton; two sisters; Dianne (Jeffery) Brumfield of Tylertown, and Myrtis Annette Holmes of Jackson, Miss.; a mother-in-law, Freddie Dyson of Franklinton; five aunts, Earnestine Moore of Flint, Mich., Mae Ellen Warren of Chicago, Ill., Melissa (Chris) Bechtel of Birch, Mich., Mary Lee Holmes, and Virginia Holmes of Tylertown; four uncles, J.C. Holmes of Houston, Texas, Robert (Hugh Dotsie) Causey, and John (Anginette) Causey of Tylertown, and James (Brenda) Causey of Mt. Hermon; his best friend, Larry “Hook” Holmes of Tylertown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who love him dearly.

The visitation will be Friday, Nov. 4, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home, located at 2000 Washington St, in Franklinton.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Magee’s Creek M.B. Church in Tylertown, with the Rev. Dr. George Coney. The interment will be held at Magee’s Creek Cemetery. Sign the guestbook online at www.crainandsons.com.
