William Shelton Hunt, 91, a resident of Bogalusa, born on Jan. 31, 1925, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Kemp Hunt; five daughters, Lynn Marie Jenkins (Denton), Catherine Willis (Larry Joseph), Marianne H. Bennett (Otis Sony), Theresa H. Gomez (Edward) and Amy Marie Hunt; one son, Shelton Elmer Hunt (Cheryle); one sister, Bevy Simmons; one brother, Houston Hunt; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Spurgeon Hunt and Ida Mae Stafford Hunt; two sisters, Ora Lee Brumfield and Lillie Mae Taylor; three brothers, John Hunt, Hubert Hunt and Robert Earl Hunt.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., with Masonic services at 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Brumfield and the Rev. Keith Sheridan officiating.

Interment will follow at Lee’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with military graveside services by the Magic City American Legion Post #24.
