Valarie Ann Johnson was born Aug. 9, 1957, to the proud parents of Mr. Jessie and Gloria Terrell in Bogalusa. She passed away on Oct. 24, 2016, in Good Samaritan Rest Home in Franklinton.

Valarie was educated in Bogalusa City Schools. She graduated from Bogalusa High School. After she worked for Crown Zellerbach and also as a representative for General Dynamics, she later married and moved to California, then moved back to Louisiana after the passing of her first husband.

She continued her education, as she was determined to get her degree. She eventually received her bachelor of arts degree in medical assistance.

Valarie was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness, and she believed in a life thereafter. She held to his promise, and although she suffered, she knew that Jehovah God said there was a day when this world would be all over, in a land where there would be no more pain or suffering and no heart aching. She knew this early in life, striving and looking forward to this day.

She leaves those who will remember her love: her devoted, faithful husband Larry Johnson; two sisters, Myna Keil and Kimberly (Walter) Hooks; two brothers, Andree (Betty) Powell and Michael Terrell; two uncles, Richard (Weaver) Keil and Larry Keil; three aunts, Ruth Platter, Finese Peters and Barbara (Henry) Chatman; her mother-in-law, Austen Johnson; four sisters-in-law, Willestine Watson, Earnestine Brester, Erme Jean Gattini and Angela (Coby) Clark; three brothers-in-law, Willie Alton (Anniebell) Johnson, Robert Earl Johnson and Alton Johnson Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

The memorial service will be Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa.
