Mary Robinson

Mary Schilling Robinson, born in Bogalusa on May 3, 1932, passed away peacefully on Oct. 23, 2016, in Mandeville.

Mary worked as a realtor with her husband Bert for many years in Natchez, Miss. She was active in the Pilgrimage Garden Club and enjoyed acting as a tour guide during the annual fall and spring pilgrimages. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling. Mary moved home to Bogalusa and enjoyed the last few years spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Dee Childress and husband Joel; her son, Herbert Robinson III and wife Stephanie; her granddaughter, Keely Childress; her grandsons, Christopher Eakes, Herbert Robinson IV, and Stephen Robinson; her nieces, Dianne Schilling and Dale Schilling Tims; her nephew, Donnie Schilling; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Bert” Robinson Jr.; her brother, Paul Schilling; her sister, L. Claire Schilling; and her nephew, David Schilling.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Funeral services will begin at noon, with the Rev. Greg Whaley officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
