Larry Hewitt passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington.

On July 30, 1951, Larry Hewitt was born to the union of John Hewitt and Rutha Magee Hewitt. He was one of six siblings.

He joined House of Faith Church of God In Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) in 1976 under the leadership of Superintendent Benson Magee until January 2016 when he joined Friendship C.O.G.I.C. He remained under the leadership of Dr. Magee until the end.

Larry loved the Lord and attending church, but failing health prevented him from attending as he so loved to do. Larry was a happy soul. He never met anyone that was not his friend. He loved everyone he met and everybody was his friend.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two brothers, Richard Hewitt of New Orleans, and Cevan Hewitt of Franklinton; three sisters, Rhonda Hewitt and Annie Jean Fraise of Franklinton, and Debra Magee of New Orleans; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Friendship C.O.G.I.C. The funeral will follow at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Benson Magee, pastor, officiating.
