Charles Wayne Thompson, born Dec. 23, 1938, passed away Oct. 20, 2016, at Golden Living Nursing Home in Meridian, Miss.

He was a former resident of Bogalusa, and owner of Thompson’s Bait Shop. He was also retired from the state Of Louisiana.

He is survived by one sister, Teresa Anders and husband Billy of Meridian; two nieces, Donna Ahlrich and husband Paul of Madison, Miss., and Dianne Freeman and husband J.B. of Meridian; three great-nieces and three great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Cecile; and parents, Loyd and Grace Nolan Thompson.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. in Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, at the Sanctuary of Peace Mausoleum.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, located at 610 Ave F in Bogalusa, is in charge of arrangements.
