Evelyn Pasterio Corkern, born Jan. 16, 1939, passed away Oct. 4, 2016, at Our Lady Of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.

She is survived by: three sons, Vernon E. Corkern Jr. of Bogalusa, Johnny R. Corkern of Bogalusa and Tony M. Corkern of Angie; three daughters, Nora Barber of Bogalusa, Joyce Creel of Bogalusa and June Lorio of Bogalusa; three sisters, Charlene Ricard, Stella Miley and Rose McBeth; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Vernon E. Corkern Sr.; son, Terry James Corkern; parents, Joseph and Leoia Pasterio; brothers, Reuben Sumrall, Luther Pasterio and Milton Barber; and one sister, Ella Mae Scott.

Visitation will be held in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 7, from 9 a.m. until time for service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Ponemah Cemetery. Bro. Prent Wheat will officiate.
