Richard Talley

Richard Wayne Talley, 83, passed away Sept. 29, 2016, at his residence in Sun. He was a member of Talley’s Chapel Pentecostal Church. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Dykes Talley of Sun; three sons, Charles Wayne Talley (Jodie) of Bogalusa, Troy Laverne Talley (Diana) of Bush, and Russell Paul Talley (Lynn) of Bush; three daughters, Paula Denise Crow (Royce) of Bogalusa, Elizabeth Renee Bryant (Bruce) of Mobile, Ala., and Andrea Leigh Wheat (Andrew) of Bossier City; step-children, David Lakey of Salt Lake City, Utah, Roxiann Olea of Silver City, N.M., Rhonda Martinez of Phoenix, Ariz., and Sue Lakey of Silver City; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Elizabeth Calmes; and parents, Samuel W. and Neola Jenkins Talley.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 2, in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, Oct. 3, at First Pentecostal Church from 11 a.m. until time for services at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Talley’s Chapel Church Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Magic City Post #24 of the American Legion.
