A tip from the public allowed the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office to recently recover a stolen Harley-Davidson motorcycle, according to WPSO officials.
On Tuesday, Sept. 20, criminal patrol deputies received a tip that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was parked behind an abandoned house near the intersection of Louisiana Highway 1070 and Louisiana Highway 438.
Upon arrival, deputies observed the motorcycle behind the house in some very tall bushes. After deputies obtained the Vehicle Identification Number, they determined that the motorcycle was listed as stolen out of Jefferson Parish.
At this time no arrest has been made and the case remains under investigation by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
“People who have been a victim of a theft deserve to have their property back,” Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “I appreciate the public’s help in locating this stolen motorcycle. I want to personally thank Deputies Glenn and Lindsey for their quick response and recovery of this stolen motorcycle.
“If you have information about an incident, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 985-839-3434.”
