“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course. I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).

Melvin Causey-Nathaniel, 78, departed this life Sept. 7, 2016. She lived her life serving God, and even on her death bed, she continued to praise God.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: a daughter, Tunjua Nathaniel; a son, Joe Louis (Shana) Nathaniel Jr.; two granddaughters, Jazzmine and Candice Nathaniel, all of Vera Beach, Fla.; a grandson, Justin (Alizabeth) Nathaniel; a great-granddaughter, Mia Nathaniel, all of Virginia; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Louis Nathaniel Sr.; and her parents, Ado and Alberta Causey Sr.

The homegoing service will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Bogalusa, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Stanley McDaniel officiating.
