Mrs. Bessie Lee Watson was born on Sept. 14, 1932, to the late Clermont and Inez Tate Sibley. She departed this life on Sept. 7, 2016, at her home in Mt. Hermon.

Bessie was a member of Crystal Springs A.M.E. Church, where she remained faithful until her illness prevented her attendance.

Bessie leaves to cherish her memories: four sons, Leo (Deloris) Coleman of Mt. Hermon, Larry Coleman of Baton Rouge, Kenneth (Patricia) Watson of Baton Rouge, and Michael (Quincey) Watson of Mt. Hermon; three daughters: Joyce (Unandus) Dyson of Mt. Hermon, Erica Watson of Madisonville, and Stephanie (Carl) Roberson of Baton Rouge; one godchild; Pam Brumfield of Baton Rouge; 35 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Clermont Sibley of California, Claiborne Sibley of Mt. Hermon, and James (Bertha) Sibley of Baton Rouge; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Watson; her parents, Clermont and Inez Tate Sibley; one daughter, Lorraine Williams; one brother, Oliver Sibley; one granddaughter, Daja Coleman; and one grandson; Jaston G. Coleman Conerly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 16, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, at noon at Crystal Springs A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Larry Whitley, pastor, and Pastor Rochelle Brumfield, eulogist. Interment will be in Crystal Springs Cemetery.
