Parents of BHS seniors to meet Tuesday

Though the school year is just getting into gear, parents of area seniors are already looking at May.

Ray Hills, one of those parents, is organizing a Project Graduation meeting for all parents of Bogalusa High School seniors for next Tuesday.

Project Graduation is an annual effort to raise funds to pay for a night of safe, supervised fun for seniors after they graduate. It includes a lock-in, food, games and more.

Hills said the Tuesday meeting will establish the officers for the year, and once that happens, business owners in Bogalusa can get ready for some phone calls.

“Every year, all the businesses in Bogalusa whether it’s food or beverage or condiments, we just want to let them know we’ll be coming again this year,” he said.

Hills said the project benefits the community.

“It helps bring the community together and it shows the seniors we care for them,” he said.

Anyone who would like to volunteer with the group is encouraged to go to the Tuesday meeting.

“We’re asking all parents of seniors to please attend because we will be selecting officers,” he said.

Hills said it will start at 6 p.m. at the Bogalusa High School Library.
