Mark Douglas Schneider Samford, 34, a former resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, in Miami, Fla., where he had been living since 2014.

He is survived by his mother, Delee Samford of Bogalusa; his step-father, Ricky Barnes of Bogalusa; his father, Mark Schneider Sr. of Biloxi, Miss.; his son, Gavin Samford; his step-daughters, Karcin and Presten Bounds; his stepson, Zohen Bounds, all of Bogalusa; his ex-wife, her husband, and dear friends, Tonya Barber Bounds and Ryan Colby Bounds of Bogalusa; his grandmother, Brenda Samford of Bogalusa; his grandfather, Bobby Schneider Sr. of Slidell; his beloved brother, Joshua (Flavia) Samford of Slidell; his step-sister, Danielle Barnes of New Orleans; his uncles, Troy and Travis Samford of Slidell, Bobby Lee Schneider Jr. of Baton Rouge, Keith Schneider of Biloxi, Michael Schneider of Bogalusa, and Jerry Schneider of Slidell; his aunts, Cynthia Beyers of Indiana, Rachel (Kerry) Miley of Bogalusa and Karrie Samford of Slidell; and numerous cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Samford; his grandfather, Zarnoff Samford; his grandmother, Velma Schneider; and uncle, Shirkee Samford.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Larry Lassley officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
