On Aug. 17, 2016, Barbara Jean Stillwell Sykes was called to heaven. She was born June 30, 1941, in Bogalusa.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerry A. Sykes; a daughter, Donna Sykes Mullen (Billy); two sons, Jeff and Doug Ray Sykes; four granddaughters, Staci, Tiffiney, Madonna (Stephen) and Ashley (Gabby); seven great-grandchildren, Nicole, Matt, Rainey, Dani, Davis, Geri and Bella; a sister, Janice Billings; brother-in-law, Douglas Sykes (Judy); sister-in-law, Mary Nell Stephens; niece, Shelly Sykes; several nephews; and very good friends, Betty Cooper and Bobbie Sykes Miller.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Larry L. Stillwell and Julia Slade Stillwell; two brothers, Larry and Ray Stillwell; and two great-grandchildren, Bailey Jean and Ray Albert Bedwell.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
