Gary Floyd Adams departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at the age of 64.

He was the beloved husband of Diane Adams for 35 years, and the son of Joyce Adams Henry and his late father, Floyd Adams.

He is survived by his sister, Pamela Adams King (Wayne); Sheila Adams Drago (Scott) and Jeffrey Adams (Gwen); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Gary was a proud U.S. Army veteran and retired after 20 years of service. He was a member of the 39th Military Police Company, Joint Forces Headquarters and the 204th Area Support Group of the Louisiana Army National Guard. Gary was also a Deputy for the St Bernard Sheriff’s Office and retired after 17 years of service. Gary will be forever loved and remembered. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Relatives, friends, members and retirees of the Louisiana National Guard and the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, located at 701 W. Virtue St. in Chalmette, on Friday, Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday. A visitation will also be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, located at 610 Ave. F in Bogalusa, on Saturday, Aug. 20, from noon until 2 p.m., with a service beginning at 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Reuben Adams Cemetery in Bogalusa.
