Linda Kay Magee

Linda Kay Magee, a resident of Bogalusa, departed her life on Aug. 10, 2016.
Linda Kay Magee was born to the late James E. Magee and Lizzie Ruth Magee in Columbia, Miss.
She began her formal education in Bogalusa and graduated from Central Memorial High School in the mighty class of 1969. She received a degree in computer technology from Northshore Technical College.
Linda loved the Lord and enjoyed hearing the Word of God. She instilled the love of God in her children and everyone around her. She dedicated her time, energy and talent to serving the community. She was a former dedicated member of the Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church mass choir, adult Sunday school and Senior Mission. Linda Kay was a compassionate wife, devoted loving mother, a very proud grandmother, an affectionate sister, a very faithful daughter, a heart warming aunt, and a friend to everyone.
She touched many lives and was always doing for others. She stressed the importance of family loving each other, staying close and getting an education. It was her joy helping others, no matter how tired she was Linda Kay was married to the late Bobby Franklin Sr. and later married Roy A. Fox.
Linda Kay peacefully made her transition on Wednesday evening, Aug. 10, on the other side.
Linda leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted mother, Lizzie Ruth Magee; her children she loved dearly, Tamara C. Franklin, Bobby Franklin (Jenna), Keywong A. Fox- Forbes (Brandon); and a special friend, David E. Hayes. She also leaves the love of her life, her grandchildren, Charleena Franklin, Sharleena Franklin, Sean Fox, Zendaya Forbes and Zamaria Hayes; three brothers, Charles Magee (Erma), Robert Magee (Fannie), and Dennis McGee; five sisters, Gladys Magee of Atlanta, Ga., Shelia McGee, Neeta McGee Christian of Chicago, Ill., Monique C Joe (Timothy) and Tinker Bell; and three godchildren, Christian Holloway, KaShanda Moses and Des’Marquis Bruns. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, the late James E. Magee; two sisters, Rose Magee and Shirley Magee; and one brother, Willie Magee.
Visitation will be held at Cook Richmond Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 19, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, located at 1104 Poplas St. in Bogalusa. Dr. Raymond E. Mims, pastor, will be officiating.
Interment will be at Sweet Valley Cemetery in Columbia.
