Doris Louise Amacker, 88, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Bogalusa and was a nursing assistant at Bogalusa Community Medical Center.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Ova Amacker Barrere and husband Bobby of Metairie, and Robin Amacker Chastant of Bogalusa; a son, Harlan Amacker and wife Aline of Poplarville, Miss.; 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Otho and Arvoy Jane Smith Blackwell; and a son-in-law, Walter Chastant.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 16, starting at 10 a.m. and remaining open until the funeral service in the chapel at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home at 2 p.m. The Rev. Patrick Magee and Chris Amacker officiated the service, with interment following at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
