The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that multiple roads are impassable due to the heavy rainfall Friday morning.

These roads include:

• Shelby Booty Road

• Martin Road at crossroad

• John D. Woods at Highway 1072

• Highway 25 — Fleetwood subdivision

• Highway 25 — south side of state park entrance

• Monroe Knight Road

• Highway 450 to Sunny Hill

• Lee Road

• Heyward Street and 13th Avenue in East Acres

• Clarence Road

• W.N. Brown — culvert washed out

• Highway 450 south of Highway 38 bridge is closed due to water overtopping.

• Bill Knight Road – culverts blown out

• West Duncan Road – culvert washed out

• Highway 438 at the parish line

• Lonnie Duncan Road – end of bridge washed out

• Heidelberg Road

At 11 a.m., the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced additional closures:

• Highway 10 to Richardson is closed

• Highway 450 north of Highway 16 is closed

• Louisiana Highway 1072 at Tullos Road is closed due to high water until further notice.

• Louisiana Highway 10 is closed in both directions at the Washington Parish line, due to flooding.

• Louisiana Highway 38 is closed in both directions at Wilson Road near the Washington Parish line, due to flooding.

In addition, Sheriff Randy Seal has instructed deputies to notify residents of Bogue Chitto Heights in Franklinton to prepare to evacuate.

“If you reside in an area that is prone to flooding we advise you to head for higher ground and stay away from flood waters,” Seal said. “Even a shallow depth of fast-moving flood water produces more force than most people imagine. The most dangerous thing you can do is to try walking, swimming, or driving through flood waters. Two feet of water will carry away most automobiles.”
