A one-month filing and payment extension is available to Louisiana taxpayers affected by recent severe storms and flooding, according to a press release from the Louisiana Department of Revenue.

The extension applies to Louisiana tax returns and payments that were initially due Aug. 15, 2016. The extended deadline is Sept. 15, 2016.

For returns and payments submitted by the extended deadline, the Louisiana Department of Revenue will waive any late filing penalties, late payment penalties and interest that would otherwise apply.
