The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Department has arrested Charles Mixon in relation to a murder just outside of Bogalusa earlier this week.

Mixon is being charged with second-degree murder.

The murder occurred at his home on Shorty Bush Road, though sheriff’s deputies, who are investigating the murder, have declined to release further details of the case, including the victim’s name.

Those details will be released later this morning.

However, Chief Deputy Mike Haley has said several rumors are not correct.

“Some media personnel have contacted me concerning rumors that, one, there was more than one murder victim. There was not,” he said. “Only a single victim. Also, two, the murder was videotaped. It was not.”
