Patricia Erwin Brumfield, 71, a resident of Franklinton, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at her home.

She was a retired employee of the Washington Parish Health Unit and also had worked for BellSouth. Pat was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church and the widow of longtime sheriff’s deputy Max O. Brumfield Jr. She enjoyed working in her yard and loved watching her favorite television show, The Golden Girls.

She is survived by: two step-children and spouses, Max O. Brumfield III and Risha Brumfield, and Karmen and Ben Poole, all of Zachary; four nephews and spouses, Joey and Kim Roberts of Franklinton, Mickey and Jennifer Roberts of Decatur, Texas, Leslie and Pam Davis of Hull, Texas, and Lee and Mandy Davis of Franklinton; one niece and spouse, Dee Davis Polkey and Wayne Polkey of Tylertown, Miss.; a sister-in-law, Martha Ann Brumfield Davis of Franklinton; seven step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and also numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max O. Brumfield Jr.; her parents, Danton Erwin and Laura Fussell Erwin; a sister, Sue Erwin Roberts; and two brothers-in-law, Holyne Roberts and Larry Davis.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Saturday, July 30, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Joe Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnathon Tynes, B.J. Roberts, Wayne Polkey, Bill Knight, Johnathon Knight and John Phares. Christopher Luper will be an honorary pallbearer.
