Shawn Ivy “Loaf” Arabie, 44, a resident of Sun, died Sunday July 17, 2016, doing what he loved, working on his racecar.

He was a welder that enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Shawn loved to cook for family and friends, especially his favorite seafood. He always cared deeply for his entire family and many friends.

He is survived by: his wife, Tricia A. Arabie of Sun; four children and spouses, Paige Arabie and Jessie Pierce, Gabriel and Junior Morse, Krysten Arabie and Rebekah Arabie; two grandchildren, Gaston Leroy “T-Boy” Morse III and Remmington Klouse Odom; an expectant grandchild; parents, Denise and Floyd “Black” Arabie; siblings, Brandie Arabie, Christina Spell, Ricky Terrebone Jr. and Shae Hall; godchildren, Rebecca Frickey, Airman First Class Joseph Arabie, Landon Arabie and Robin Logan Smith; special moms, Peggy Dawson and Diane Strahan; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robin L. Frickey; and grandparents, Ivy and Jeanette Frickey, Frank and Elvira Arabie.

Visitation was at Oak Grove Baptist Church (19840 Lee Road in Franklinton) Thursday, July 21, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service was held in the church at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Derek Dantin officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joseph Arabie, Landon Arabie, Robin Logan Smith, Gregory Miller, Marc Frickey, Michael Frickey, Woodie Seals and Steven Crawford.
