The sweet Angel of Mercy moved in quietly on July 15, 2016, and bore the spirit of Althea Richardson “Billy” Pigott at her residence at the age of 84.

She is survived by: five daughters, Kayla A. Holmes, Yvonne Taylor and Sylvia (Fred) Scott of Bogalusa, Beverly (Saul) Davis of Sacramento, Calif., and Faye Pigott of Baton Rouge; four sons, Ronnell Sartin, Leroy Pigott, Jeffrey Pigott and Donnell (Tiffany) Pigott of Bogalusa; four extended daughters, Dorothy L. Sartin, Brenda J. Sartin and Sarah Roberts of Bogalusa, and Diane Sartin of Shreveport; one extended son, Gregory (Joyce) Payne of Bogalusa; 40 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marguerite Long of Bogalusa, Mattie Richardson of Illinois, and Margret Selders of Kenner; brothers, Fred Crain of Franklinton, Willie Crain of Varnado, Herbert Crain of Gulfport, Miss., and Hatward Crain of Kenner; a special daughter/niece, Georgia Hodges of Bogalusa; very special friends, Mary Williams and Sadie Short of Bogalusa; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Herman Pigott; father, Louis Crain; mother, Morline Richardson; one son, Herman Pigott; two daughters, Jonell Pigott and Patricia Taylor; three brothers, Clarence, David and Alvin Richardson; and four sisters, Mable Richardson, Rozina Wiggins, Gladys Barnes and Mary Thompson.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 22, at the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a family hour from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 23, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Bogalusa, with the Rev. Douglas Hart, pastor of the church, and the Rev. E.L. Powell Jr. officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
