On Thursday, July 14, Wayne Jenkins, 27, a resident of Ricky Jenkins Road, was arrested and jailed on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile and sexual battery. He posted bond and was released on Monday, July 18.

Chief Deputy Mike Haley of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office said that another juvenile victim came forth, stating that Jenkins had also committed a sexual offense against her.   After investigating the claim, WPSO detectives arrested Jenkins again and placed him back in jail charged with third degree rape and sexual battery, Haley said.

At this time, he remains in jail with no bond set.

The investigation into both of these matters continues and investigators need to know if any other juveniles have been sexually violated by Jenkins.

“If any parent has a child who has been alone with Mr. Jenkins, I encourage them to talk with the child and ask if any inappropriate behavior occurred,” Detective Demi Rice said. “If it has, please contact me at (985) 839-3434, extension 2004.”

Sheriff Randy Seal said that the WPSO takes allegations of juvenile sexual crimes extremely seriously.

“If there are other juvenile victims of Mr. Jenkins or any other person, we need to know,” he said. “Such behavior goes totally against the moral and spiritual grain of a civilized society and cannot be tolerated. It is unacceptable. Anyone who commits such a crime against a juvenile must be held accountable.”
