Shirley Anthony

Mrs. Shirley Anthony passed away at the age of 60 on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Riverside Medical Center.

Shirley Antony was born in Independence, to Willie and Oretha Taylor.

Mrs. Shirley was a faithful and dedicated member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Johnny Causey Sr.

She served in the Washington Parish School System in the capacity of a cafeteria worker and later as a cafeteria manager for more than 20 years. During her years at Franklinton Elementary School, she touched the lives of many, many children and encourage teachers and coworkers of her love for God.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her loving husband, Lester Anthony of Franklinton; six children, Shonda Anthony of Baton Rouge, Felicia Anthony of Franklinton, Alicia Anthony of Lake Charles, Quincy Anthony of Washington, D.C., Marshall Anthony of Houston, Texas, and Lester A. Anthony of New Orleans; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Pamela Taylor of Franklinton; and two brothers, Paul Taylor of Kentwood, and Willie E. Taylor of Gonzales.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Causey, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery.
