Doris Johnnie Mae Pigott, born Jan. 31, 1934, went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2016, at the age of 83.

She leaves behind a son, Charles Pigott Sr. of Pennsylvania; a brother, Benson Crawford Smith, of Rhode Island; two sisters, Theresa Snowden and Geniel Ogundele, both of Rhode Island; a special aunt, Minster Bobbie J. Lindsey of Michigan City, Ind.; her grandchildren, Amzie Pagott, Charles Pigott Jr., Apollo Pigott, Shukura Pigott, Nicole Pigott, Derek Pigott, William Pigott, Andre Pigott, Diana Pigott and Vincent Pigott; three daughters-in-law, Casaline Pigott, Patricia Berryhill and Mavis Pigott; and other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Ida Mae Freeman; two sons, Willie Pigott and Jim Pigott Jr.; two brothers, Milton Scott and Ruben Wayne Smith; and a sister, Emily Scott.

Visitation was held Thursday, June 16, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, beginning at 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. Interment followed in the Bogalusa City Cemetery.
