Elbert E. Miley

Elbert E. Miley, 69, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016, at his residence in Bogalusa.

He was employed by Crown Zellerbach/Gaylor Papermill for 33 years and retired from the National Guard after serving 20 years.

Elbert enjoyed antique cars, spending time with his family, and most of all going to ballgames to watch his grandchildren play.

He is survived by a daughter, DeAnn (Byron) Forbes of Franklinton; a son, Britt Miley of Bogalusa; grandchildren, Allison Forbes, Aaron Forbes, Morgan Miley, Jordan Miley and Jackson Miley; his brother, Larry Miley of Provencal; and two sisters, Jean (Larry) Brown of Bogalusa and Elaine (Ed) Carroll of Bogalusa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ardis Miley and Myra Miley Jarrell; and a brother, Lon Miley.

Visitation will be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will resume Thursday, June 2, after 8 a.m. until the service time at noon. The Rev. Elder Mark Hobgood will officiate the services with interment to follow at Lon Miley Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Slaughter, Greg Slaughter, Albert Davis, Joe Davis, Lavon Forbes and Brett Pounds.
