Paulette Jones Spears Phelps, 69, a resident of Franklinton, died at 5:21 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016, at her residence.

She was retired from the Washington Parish Clerk of Court Office. She was a member of Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church, but attended New Beginnings Church.

She is survived by: son and daughter-in-law, Byron and Tammy Spears of Bogalusa; daughter, Mandy Phelps; two grandsons, Thailyr Spears and Jake Miller Spears; granddaughter, Bailey Spears; great-great-grandson, Braylin Spears; two sisters, Shirley Thomas and Elouise Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Malloye and Nell Jones; two sisters-in-law, Jean Jones and Hazel Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Talmadge Spears and her second, David Phelps; her son, Larue Spears; her parents; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie and Adnell Magee, Joyce McDaniel, Eloise and Kenny Lee and Charles Sullivan, Clearmenthian and Joby Magee, and Doris and J.E. “Big Boy” Magee, and brother-in-law Phillip Thomas; five brothers, Eldridge Jones, Elvin Jones, Kenneth Jones, Hunter Jones and Aubrey Jones; and sister-in-law, Margie Sonier.

Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 24, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Keith Branch officiating. Burial followed in the Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
