On Wednesday, officials with Our Lady of the Angels Hospital gathered at their newest clinic on Avenue F for a ribbon cutting and blessing.
Rene Ragas, the CEO of Our Lady of the Angels, could not attend the event as he was in Baton Rouge advocating for full hospital funding. In his place was John Finan, the CEO of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, the group that oversees Our Lady of the Angels.
Finan said he was glad his group was invited to Bogalusa to provide healthcare, and the new clinic is one more opportunity to extend that service.
“We came to Bogalusa to extend the healing mission of Christ to Washington Parish,” Finan said.
He also acknowledged the current fight in Baton Rouge to fully fund the state’s public/private hospitals.
“We do have our challenges and Rene and others are dealing with some of that today,” he said. “But I am cautiously optimistic that things will work out the way they always seem to.”
The new clinic is a general practice family medical clinic. It is located at 617 Ave. F in Bogalusa.
