The sweet angel of mercy moved in quietly on May 15, 2016, and bore the spirit of Bobbie Jean Mickell at her residence in Bogalusa at the age of 63.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her husband, Allen Mickell of Bogalusa; mother, Sallie Barnes of Bogalusa; son, James Brown Jr. of Bogalusa; daughter, Donna Brown of Bogalusa; sisters, Catherine Barnes and Alva (Joe) Lewis Sr. of Bogalusa, and Melissa (McKenzie) Gardner of Hattiesburg, Miss.; brothers, Jerome (Sonja) Bowie of Wesson, Miss., and Michael (Patricia) Barnes of Hattiesburg; step-daughter, Tiffany Marshall; step-sons, Allen Mickell Jr., William Mickell and Darion Robby; sisters-in-law, Billie (Jerome) Parks of Chicago, Ill., Glenda Rankins and Voncille Rankins of Hattiesburg; brothers-in-law, Willie and Evans Rankins of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her father, M.C. Barnes; stepson, Matthew Mickell; mother-in-law, Edna Ruth Lindsey; grandparents, James and Beulah Smith, and Clarence and Leaner Bowie; brother-in-law, Charles Rankins; and sisters-in-law, Lovie Lee, Linda Rankins and Yvonne Rankins.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 20, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21, at 2 p.m. at Harry’s Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Nolan Robinson, pastor, officiating, and pastor Tina R. Graham.

Interment will be in the Duffy Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lee’s Creek.
