Eddie D. Varnado was born March 2, 1938, in Warnerton, to the late Lucious and Marie Varnado. He departed this life on April 28, 2016, at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton.

Eddie D. attended school at Star Creek in Warnerton. He was 78 years old. At an early age, he worked for Thomas Logging, where he remained until his health got weak.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one loving and devoted daughter, Stacey Varnado of Franklinton; one son, Willie Crosby of Amite; three sisters, Helen Varnado, Earlene Reddix and Jaunitia Holts; three brothers, Earl Varnado, Sug Milton Burton and Julius Hart; one sister-in-law, Vastine Sibley of Oakland, Calif.; one aunt, Obedean Fletcher and one uncle, Oliver (Beatrice) Varnado of Osaka, Miss.; three devoted nieces, Sharon Henry, Betty Burton and Pricilla Lowe; and a host of relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Marie Varnado; one son, Eddie Duke Crosby; and his parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton.

Funeral service will be held at Crain and Sons Funeral Home at noon on Saturday, May 7, with the Rev. Washington Drake officiating. Interment will be in Sweet Home Cemetery.
