Shirley Voth Sharp, 77, a resident of Enon, passed peacefully from this life at her daughter’s home on Friday, April 22, 2016.
Shirley was a beloved mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. Known for her kindness, sweet disposition and strength as she faced life’s trials, she also had an endearing sense of humor that was cherished by those who knew her.
Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was strong and unwavering and the anchor that held her during her struggle with blindness and cancer. She was a longtime member of Enon Baptist Church and had retired in 1995 from the Office of Community Service as a case worker assistant.
She is survived by: a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Williams and Rev. Eric Williams of Franklinton; son, Bryan Sharp of Franklinton. She was a devoted “Mawmaw” to her eight grandchildren and spouses, Brittany and Cole Hunt, Joshua and Cassidy Williams, Kelsey Williams, Brandon and Jamie Gerald, Brooklynn Sharp, Caston Gerald, Brandon and Jamie Voth, and Mallory Voth; seven great-grandchildren, Audrey Williams, Ares Gerald, Maddie Gerald, Madison Voth, Jonathan Voth, Morgan Voth and Brady Voth, and Baby Hunt, due to arrive in October; sister, Brenda Bowen of Enon; brother, Keith Voth of Enon; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James L. Sharp; parents, Lee Voth and Tessie King Voth; a sister, Debbie McCain; and an infant brother, Johnny Lynn Voth.
Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home on Monday, April 25, from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Eric Williams and the Rev. Chris Wheeler officiating. Burial followed in Knight Memorial Gardens in Enon.
Pallbearers were Joshua Williams, Brandon Gerald, Brandon Voth, Cole Hunt, Caston Gerald and Tyler Tarver.
