Verrett Street temporarily closed for work

Bogalusa Public Works Director James Hall said on Friday that a section of Verrett Street will be closed until the street is repaired.

Hall explained that the city had been patching holes in a badly damaged part of the street, from Pocahontas through Camellia. However, since the city council approved a contractor bid to fix the street on Tuesday, Hall said the city couldn’t justify wasting time and asphalt on a street that would just get torn up for repairs anyway.

Therefore, Hall explained, the portion of the street, just west of Cassidy Park, will be closed until the whole street is fixed. Hall estimates this could take three weeks.
