Emelda Marion Breland Black passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Timelesss Grace Assisted Living in Carriere, Miss. Mrs. Black was 87 years old and a resident of Bogalusa.

She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church.

She was survived by her children, Vicki Black Evans and Robert J. Black; six grandchildren, Christopher Evans, Kate Evans, Lizzy Evans, Patrick Evans, Caroline Black and Joseph Black; a sister, Colleen Breland Hemphill; and a brother, Donald Breland.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Black; her son, Joseph Ralph Black Jr.; her parents, Edward and Doris Breland; her grandparents, Roscoe C. and Victoria E. Breland; and an aunt, Hazel Briese.

Visitation was Tuesday, April 19, at Annunciation Catholic Church starting at 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Father Daniel Brouillette officiating. Interment followed in Ponemah Cemetery.
