James Woody Alford was born Nov. 17, 1942, and departed this life at the age of 73 on Friday, April 1, 2016, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis and Thelma Alford, and sister-in-law, Truus Alford.

He is survived by two brothers, Ronnie Alford (Mickey) and Jesse Alford; nephew, Jesse Scott Alford; cousins, Gloria Jean Cutrer (Sweet), Sydney Wheat, Diane Walters and Harold Higgins; special friend and caregiver, Bonnie Wells Seccora; very close and special friends, Roy and Patty Wells; and his faithful pet, Little O.

Visitation was held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Monday, April 4, at 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. The memorial service began at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Marcus Rosa officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Westside Baptist Church Youth Camp.
