Beverly Ann Perry Corkern passed on April 1, 2016, in New Orleans.

Beverly was born in Flint, Mich., on Nov. 2, 1956. She was a resident of Bogalusa for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Allen Perry; parents, Theodore and Lennie Rose Perry; and brother, Ted Perry.

She is survived by her husband, Pete Corkern; sons, Scott Corkern and Robert Corkern; with daughter-in-law, Nicole Corkern; grandchildren, David, Timothy, and Jasmine; siblings, David Perry and Diane Schroeder; brother-in-law, John Schroeder; and a host of other family and friends.

She was an active member of the First Pentecostal Church in Bogalusa where she was a faithful servant with a cheerful heart; she will be greatly missed by her church family.

She was a person who wore many titles, including nurse, school/church bus driver, teacher, and even clown. She enjoyed working with her church children and was never afraid to strike a conversation with a stranger. There are not many people in Bogalusa that haven’t had the pleasure of knowing her.

One thing is true — no matter what she did, she did it with love and sincerity.

Her memorial service was Monday, April 4, at the First Pentecostal Church at 7 p.m.
